Smile Just bought 1st jag. Fryin pan or fire?

Hi, just purchased my first jag. A 2004 x-type,3.0 with 24k on the clock. Love the car so far except I have noticed a slow drip from oil pan and lug nut covers suck. But I been driving a ls and they have a ton of problems also. Sure hope it don't have as many problems as the ls are known for. Did I just get out of the friyin pan and get in the fire?

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
Time will tell, but if those are your problems, it doesn't sound bad.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome Viper! I wouldn't say from the pan into the fire, maybe just moving to one of those nicer copper-bottomed pots. honestly, with the amount of knowledge and assistance offered in this forum, there's not many jag models, whether old or new, that i wouldnt consider owning and working on (for most items) myself. Dive in and add to a few threads, you'll find ownership less worrisome with the resources of jaguarforums to rely on.

I had a bad oil pan gasket on mine and the gasket itself is cheap but getting to it is expensive unfortunately. I enjoyed mine while I had it for 2.5 years. Never had any problems starting it or left me on the side of the road.

Yeah, i geuss it can't be any more expensive than repair cost on a viper. All cars have their own issues we have to live with. I will only drive it about 5k a year. that about 4k more than i put on the viper. I think i will like it alot once i get some nice wheels on it.
