Talking Just a Girl & Her XJR

Hey guys!
Greetings from sunny South Florida!
I'm an automotive enthusiast, IT geek, and I have some awesome clients that let me play with their exotic and luxury cars.
My newest project is this beautiful 2003 Jaguar XJR R1 delivered last week. 80k miles on the odometer, in fantastic condition.
I figure I might also mention that I'm in the market to replace a few wood trim pieces, specifically the front driver and passenger doors. The stress/heat/sun cracking is awful to look at and already driving me nuts - and it hasn't even been a week since she arrived off the truck!
I'm excited to get started on her!

Welcome. You'll need to be careful about replacement of the wood. I learned the hard way when I cracked the one on my driver door. We have a local Jaguar salvage that had dozens of them hanging on a cord like a stringer full of fish. I went through all of them to try and pick the closest one. But they were all different. I believe the veneer in each car is actually a matched set. I now have one that doesn't quite match the rest of my interior.

Welcome! Restoration of your wood is probably preferable to replacement for the very reason that Phil outlined above. Check out British Autowood in Orlando - it's what they specialize in!
