Default A Minnesota Hello

Hello Peeps,

I live in Minnesota. I currently own an Alfa Romeo 164 LS, AMC Gremlin and AMC Pacer. They're all nice cars with undeserved reputations. My Alfa Romeo has been phenomenally reliable, AMC Gremlin too, and AMC Pacer incredibly quick since I've converted it to fuel injection. About me...23 years old, student and full-time worker.

Right now, I have set my sights on the X300 XJR models. They're more reliable than X308 XJR's (at least the 2001 earlier) and cheaper. And I found this one located in Chicago. Does anyone know this car and/or could check it out?

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
You will get a better response if you post your question in the X300 section XJ X300 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
I can see you are a glutton for quirky cars, I never knew there was a Gremlin!

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome to the forum stickee,

You'll need to be a full time worker to support four cars.

Clearly you know what you want and why so going for the X300 instead of an early X308 is a sensible choice.

Follow this link XJ X300 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X300 section and ask the question about this particular vehicle there. It'll get a wider viewing and quicker response that way.

Good luck.

Graham

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I like the power of the X308's and the 2001+ models are free of nikasil, timing chain tensioner, etc...problems. I don't know if the transmission drum problem was ever fixed through all those years but the X300 with its more basic mechanics seem more appealing for long-term use.
