I was having the all too common problem with my 2005 Jaguar XKR drivers door latch micro switch which needed to be replaced, as is discussed in the FAQ section. My local Jaguar dealership quoted me around $1,100. I went on Mouser.com web site and bought the micro switch for $6. Community Car Care in Alexandria, VA quoted me $250 and not only replaced the switch but also realigned my drivers door window which was desperately needed. I can't say enough how pleased I am with their dependability, quality of work and pricing! I also used an Amazon Local coupon for a synthetic oil change and tire rotation there earlier for $38. Incredible!!!

If you asked your Jaguar Dealer for a Door Latch, the cost quoted is not unreasonable. If you had asked for the Micro Switch, it is available from Jaguar (P/N C2N1908) at £14.50 ($25).

I can see from your post that you have already found the XK8/XKR tech forum and the HOW TO section so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
