I've just become the proud owner of a 2003 Jaguar XKR in British Racing Green. I am a pretty skilled mechanic with regard to my other vehicles, and after having earned my merit badge for "Lotus Gearbox Rebuild", there is nothing on the Jaguar that scares me.
Looking forward to having my car delivered...No, I haven't even seen the car yet, and digging into the technical aspects of it. I've downloaded lots of repair manuals, maintenance schedules, etc. Should be a piece of cake compared to the Lotus Esprit service schedule.
Is there a source of production numbers? I have to believe a 2003 XKR convertible in BRG is pretty rare.
Production numbers are well documented BUT not split down by body colour. This question has been asked many times and JLR simply do not release the data. However, I can confirm that BRG is one of the rarer colours.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Hello, Bill,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
It would seem you are Very qualified for such ownership, considering your Lotus experience.
You will do Just Fine!
Welcome Bill. You are a lucky bum to find a 4.2-liter XK8 in BRG! I wanted a 4.2 coupe in BRG and looked far and wide. Four years ago I gave up and settled for a black one. Just as well I did as I have yet to see a decent late BRG coupe for sale. Therefor I'll venture to guess that late model X100s in BRG are nearly life Snarks in rarity. Enjoy your ride!
Hello Bill, and welcome to the Forums. I can offer you a "snap" as I also have a 2003 XKR in green. As you'll see from the photo below, the colour isn't quite as dark as British Racing Green. In fact, Jaguar list the colour as "Jaguar Racing Green" for this reason. To the best of my knowledge, yours is likely to be the same colour. I actually love the colour, particularly with the metallic highlights, and consider myself very lucky to have found this car locally. I believe it is actually a more appropriate colour than BRG - it better reflects the modern reality of the car, while retaining the connection to Jaguar heritage. In that sense, the colour sums up nicely the whole philosophy of this car for me. Enjoy your new drive!
Good Luck,
Respect the cat, they can fly.
While surfing for info on my 2003 XJR 4.0 ,,I ran into dealer sales video on the car and all the controls, I wish I seen years before.
