Default New 2010 XF owner

Hello to all,
Just purchased a 2010 XF with 23 K miles. This is my first Jag and I traded a 2001 Lexus ES 300. The car is a dream to look at and drive however it is at the dealership right now to check a chirping noise when cold coming from the drive belt area. I believe it is a water pump bushing but the dealer has not confirmed yet. I hope this is not a sign of things to come? My Lexus never gave me any problems but was going to need a lot of maintenance soon.
I have been doing my own repairs for the last 35 years unless it's covered under warrenty. I've enjoyed reading everyone's post and look forward to enjoying a auto built by our friends in England!

Welcome to the forum Ablissit,

Congratulations on the XF. Hope the chirping is nothing serious.

Welcome to the forum Ablissit,

Good to have you with us.
I hope the dealer gets you sorted out.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Default Back from the dealer

I picked up my XF today after leaving it all weekend to fix the chirping noise. They replaced the drive belt but could not find anything else wrong. For now the chirping is gone but I'm afraid the water pump is still the problem. It's quiet for now and I'll keep an eye on the coolant level to see how it does.
The reasons I think it is the water pump are:
1. Crank pulley has rust on it
2. The chirping would go away after about a minute, long enough for the water to circulate and lubricate.
3. When I was driving in damp weather the windshield kept getting fogged up on the outside and it appeared to be coming from under the hood.

What do you guys think? What kind of temp warning does the XF give you? I'm used to gauges.
