Default new 2010 Xkr vert in Paris, France

Hello Jag lovers,

I found my lovecat a few weeks ago and drove it back from germany last week.
I previously had a rare 6spd manual f430 spider that I loved a lot.
The car was just what I dreamed of but my wife and kids would so rarely share this passion with me that I eventually found it too sad and selfish.
Because I cant park a collection of cars, I needed to sell it to find a new weekender capable to not scare my wife and embark kids from time to time.

The 5.0 Xkr vert looked like a bargain wrapped in Ian Callum aston looking package with enough power to part with the Ferrari.

Thanks to this forum, I got enough confidence to buy at the same time the XKR and all the mod parts I felt necessary to make it a nice car.

The car will get next week spires stage 3 active exhaust, pulley plus k&n plus custom remap, a new front badge, new brake pad / fluid/ lines, last but not least the famous remote top ! All parts ordered actually before I even saw nor drove the car.

A big thank you to all of you as I saved, at best, years of trial and error with your knowledge posted on this forum.

I am now joining as it makes sense to share what its like to own, drive and live with this car.

If btw someone knows the part number or sells the knurled rotary gear selector found in my2012 XKs and in other jags, you have a buyer and a friend

Cheers to every Jag Forum member

Welcome to the forum aladenbs,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Is this the selector part (see item 3 - C2Z8728)?

It sounds like you've already found your way to the XK/XKR technical forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Thans for the welcome and advice.
Will further update signature as the parts are installed.

About the gear knob : the one depicted looks like mine, which is 2009 / 2010.
If this is a 2012+ diagram, then maybe they did not update the looks on the schematic and part number is what I look for. But odds are the diagram from a 2009-2011 parts catalogue and part is what I want to change.

The 2012 and onward knobs have the so called knurled design which I found very classy like some other members.

Welcome to the forum I really understand where your coming from when you say that your wife and kids can't share your passion with you , your a good man ! It's one of the main reasons I got my xk as I was looking at Aston vantage and manual Ferrari 360
You'll love the jaguar , it's very classly all whilst being wrapped up in a non pretentious timeless design
