New member here, but not new to Jaguar. Had a 1984 XJS convertible for 10 years. Wife caught me looking at car **** on line. We traded the old one in on a 2006 XK8 convertible 2 years ago. First problem with the new one. The passenger side sun visor has come loose, where it swivels from in front to the side. The plastic base that measures 2 inches right to left, & 3/4 inch front to back has come loose on the right end as you look to the front of the car. I tried to remove the top metal bar on top of the windshield, but did not want to force it & bend it, same thing with the cloth cover on the A pillar. I looked on line to see if there was a video to help, but only found ones on how to repair the mirror or the mirror light. Don't really want to take it to a dealer if I can help it, as the nearest one is 2.5 hours away. Look forward to using the forum. Thanx in advance for the help.

Welcome.

As Elinor said, a quicky repost of the issue in the XK8 (X100) or the XK (X150) area will have the answers.

The 2006 is right at the change point, but I reckon yours is the XK8 (X100) model.

Welcome to the forum RA18979620,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Please do NOT make identical posts across different forums. I've deleted one of the two you posted in XK8/XKR forum and left the other which has already had a reply.

As you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR tech forum there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Northwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-northwest-washington-oregon-idaho-sw-canadians-64/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
