Default New to the board

I was registerd in the past, but can't find my ID. Just picked up a 2001 XK8 and have been searching the board for info and must say that this is one of the best boards I've ever looked at. Lots of info and minimal BS, all focused on guys who just want to keep their Jags in good shape.

Current fleet include: 2001 XK8, 1996 XJ6, 1952 MK VII (long term project), 1998 BMW Z3, 1990 BMW 325IC, 1979 Fiat Spider 2000, 1948 Fiat 500A Topolino (another long term project) and 2 Jeeps.

Here in Easton, PA, about halfway between Philadelphia and New York City, lots of cool cars, cruises and museums within and hour or two.

Thanks for all the valuble posts!

Thank you for your kind comments. I really can't remember which email address I used to sign up last time, no big deal. With our "fleet" I do spend a great deal of time with a wrench in my hand! I'll try and get some pics posted.

None of our cars are "show" quality, just nice drivers, but I am amazed at the comments some of them get. If we take the XJ6 out for a day of shopping, etc. someone will act like it is some kind of high dollar luxury car and comment on it. It helps that it is the metallic red, not the usual silver or champagne they see everywhere. The XK8 is new to us, but gets a bunch of looks and comments. I went to the tire shop today and the owner was going on about it. He has a Corvette that I am sure has more value on the market, but you see them every day. I think Jags are quite possibly the most under-priced cars in the used car market today and certainly offer one of the best values IF you choose the right car.

Now on to the non-functioning seats...

Thanks to all!

Heh. I've just bought a 2001 XK8 myself and yes, it is one attention getting car. In the month I've had it I've gotten more comments on it from strangers (or people I only know in passing) then I've ever gotten on everything else I've ever driven combined.

Got a seat problem as well, oddly enough, nothing on the passenger side works.

Thanks. The Topolino is rough, but mostly all there. From what I can find it is one of the very last flat head engine cars IF you can trust FIAT's record keeping (who knows there???). You may have seen more of the SIMCA Cinq's in France. Are there any parts left in France for SIMCA of that era?

You might try this link. OK so it is a French site. Simca Cinq.

See a few at classic car rallies in Summer.

Thanks for the tip on Simca stuff. Posted some of the fleet in my garage, including the Topolino.
