I am 15 years retired and aging very rapidly so I traded my Toyota Prius of 9 years untroublesome motoring and cheap to run but dull, for my Jaguar X-type SE 2.0 petrol 2005.
Recently sold by original owners. It has only 32,000 kims on the clock and all details check out as genuine. I was not after an X-Type in fact, something noisier would have pleased me more but at that distance travelled, it was a no-brainer, I hope!
I am in Newcastle NSW Australia and have a very good, long established family company located in the town, to look after the car for me.
They are Jaguar specialists and have been for some 40 years. However, by browsing your admirable site I have found leads to my needs and these leads let me ask resonably sensible questions that might otherwise evade me!
Among the first tasks I want done are to have Sat Nav retrofitted (I can only change light bulbs), and have hands-free telephony and Jaguar voice control fitted - I feel I can ask about that now as I see so many others have travelled that route.
However, they seem to have technical competence at a level that I can only dream about! Whether I can manage 10 posts and be around for 3 days in order to get 'standing' I am not sure, but thanks so much for the chance to drive around the JF site as a guest to date.

Thank you GGG. I see that you are located in Durham. In the early 60s I was a student at Durham University. Better results would have been forthcoming perhaps if I had not spent so much time pushing my 3 wheeler Morgan because I couldn't afford the petrol or was there some other problem that a friendly Forum could have helped with?!

Thanks Norrie,
I shall follow up your reminder to add a picture when I get a suitable one taken.
I am new to 'forums' and 'blogs' so please forgive shambles.
Presently looking to retrofit Sat Nav by local (Newcastle NSW) Jaguar mechanics and fit hands free telephone and voice if possible.
