Default New to Eurocars - X-Type owner.

Hello,

Bought an 03' X-Type with 120,000 miles on it this weekend. I would consider myself fairly handy around the garage. Basically, I know just enough to get me into trouble, but always manage to finish the job. I've never put a wrench on a Jaguar until last night, when I changed the oil, and poked around under the hood a little. I got to tell you guys I'm hooked. I know it's a Ford-made-Jag, but those of you have ever worked on American cars can attest, there IS a difference. Looking forward to learning more about this beautiful brand.

Cheers,

Brad

Welcome to the forum Brad from the Mid West region!
Knowing enough to get into trouble is such fun. It is one of the best ways to learn especially when working on Jaguars. This forum will be a great help with any issues that may come up with your X Type.
I have almost finished replacing the engine on my 2004 Pontiac Vibe as the original engine had done 260,000 miles and had developed an oil leak from the rear crankshaft seal. So I know about getting into trouble as I never realized how much I had to remove to get the engine out, but I should be done by the end of this weekend.
It's meant that I have been driving my XJ8 most of the time, so I have been having fun.
When you get a chance please check out the link in my signature, this will help you link up with the Midwest members that are local to you.
All the best to you.
