I live in Austin, TX and have a 1997 XJ6 I bought recently. I would love to know more about this particular model and a good place to order parts from in the US.

Great advice already . . . hit those Stickys at top of the S-Type forum . . . there is a mine of manuals and write-ups there (and on the JagRepair.com reference site maintained by one of our members, Gus). Be aware that much of the "post facelift" still refers to our later MY07 cars, but do seek out the later wiring diagrams.
Dive in . . . and enjoy!
