new to forum and jaguar
First off I would like to say thank you.. I have been reading posts and getting good info on this forum for a little over 6 months since I purchased a mostly ignored 04 xj8. The car was one of 5 this gentleman owned and it got sporadic use, the upside was low mileage.. just under 80k at 14 yo.. this gentleman was getting up there in age and was not a maintenance guru. The car has some peeling clear coat, a number of dings, interior was fairly dirty but in good shape with only the drivers seat bottom in questionable shape, The exterior is basically straight and aligned well. The car presents well from 20 feet. British racing green with a tan interior is where I landed, dark grey with black would have been my first choice but when fishing sometimes you take what bites and seems to be a good deal. I have been wrenching on one thing or another since I was about 5. My father was an electrical engineer who worked on the F105 and A10 warthog at Republic aviation, great depression era baby, and a world war 2 vet(european theater). His can do attitude greatly shaped who I became as we Never paid anyone to do anything.. The one time he paid someone to replace a front clip on a 68 Beetle conv he ripped it back apart immediately upon its arrival home and did it the RIGHT way..I own lots of hand tools, a Bridgeport mill, several machine lathes, valve lathe and seat grinder, and just acquired an alignment lift. Too much other stuff to mention and was into Harley Davidson and Chrysler products most of my life. I am a capable mechanic when it comes to most things but the Jaguar has been an adjustment. I fell in love with the looks of the x350 and fell in love deeply when I drove it.. What a nice vehicle.. I commute around 3 hours a day in it and would scarcely want to sit in something else. May be an XK convertible one day..

Welcome to the forums special effects,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the X350 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
