Default New to Jaguar and New to NE US Forum

Hello All,
Signing on from Southern NH and I can't wait to get started and to meet all of you. I am married with three adult sons and I am a first time Jaguar owner. After many years of wanting one I finally decided the time was right. I have a 2001 XK8 Convertible with cashmere interior and BRG exterior that I knew early on whatever Jaguar I purchased was going to have those colors.

I have a lot to learn and I admit I have been creeping (my sons words) on this site for a few months now getting up the courage to join the technology age. Please be patient with me my skills on the computer and with the terms used in social media like blog, posts, threads, etc. are all new to me, let alone trying to remember where to post, update and my log in information:-)

In addition to the technology part I am also enjoying learning the language of Jaguar, British slang and terminology from all of you. I look forward to interacting with the forum and can't wait to get started.

Our first outing in the car was a long weekend trip to Bar Harbor Maine to visit with our son who is a Chef so sea food and Lobster were a must. We left early Saturday morning and drove coastal route one with the top down what a great time.

Pictures to follow when I can figure out how to change the the resolution for posting.

Thank you all in advance for being patient with me until I come up to speed.

Jagnit, welcome to the forum and good luck with jag. I must admit I am a bit jealous, a scenic ride in a jag with the top down to go eat lobster, what could be any better.

From Southern NH too. My son and I just purchased a 1998 XJ8. Although, your convertible sound nice.

Hi neighbor, I am next door in Merrimack and have a son that lives in Nashua we visit often. We often hit the local ice cream stands and cruise the back roads. Would like to begin working on my soft top and put a little treatment on it probably Raggtopp. Maybe we'll see each other around town and can get a photo of the two cars. Enjoy the cruising.

Good Luck with your Jag!!!
Feeling tech challenged on this forum is not hard to do so don't even think about it. It would take a lifetime to catch up to the collective knowledge and skills made available to us "challenged" individuals on this fantastic forum !!!

Best Regards

Hi Jag, welcome to the Jaguar Forum. Not to worry. U have plenty of old guys like me not as computer savy as the young folk. Sounds like you had a great trip north. Wife and I are heading to Acadia Nat Park/ Bar Harbor next month. No Jag this time. Pick up truck ( spare ride ) full of junk... Route 1 North in Maine top down in a Jag, nothing like it. Plan on doing a bit of biking on the carriage roads in Acadia. Lots of luck with your new ride, Rich

Well Harvard isn't that far and isn't the Yankee Candle factory out that way? I need to keep my wife happy so a side trip or two usually does the trick? Maybe we'll cross paths.

Thanks I am trying to understand how to reply to threads and without my boys around for the knowledge I will try this. So far I am happy with the car and fortunate it is running well. With the forum's vast knowledge I know I'm in good hands.
