Default New to the forum - Mk1 recommissioning

Hi there everyone! My name is Nick, and I'm located in Victoria, Australia. I've had a love of Jaguars since I was a little kid because of my Dad's love for the XJ series. I have a particular fascination for the Mark 1, and I'm currently recommissioning one - I use the word recommission because I'm at uni and just want to get it on the road before a major restoration.

I have a 3.4 body shell with little rust, although missing the passenger (left) doors, and I have a parts car, which is a rather rotten 1956 2.4 that has had an old MkVII 3.4 shoehorned in. I hope to use the doors which are rather rust free in with the other car. Once the semester has finished at uni, I hope to really get stuck into the car; rebuilding one of the 3.4 engines I have lying around, the Moss 'box and suspension; so I'll be posting on this forum as I get stuck or confused.

Welcome to the forum Nick,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the
MKI / MKII S type 240 340 & Daimler forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Australia - Victoria/Tasmania Region forum by following this link Australia - Victoria / Tasmania - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
