I am turning in my XJ8 on Friday and driving back in the new XKR (3X black) standard 20". Can't wait - pics to follow.

Got a call (not the call []) from the ******* today; he says the car is at the LA port being released and it should definitely be a go on Fri, he will give me "The Call" when she is on the lot.

Anybody know what all the details are in getting a car released by the port, and shipped to the lot (same city)?

 

This has nothing to do with your dealer. We import all our parts from the UK. It is when customs decides to release the vehicle. They are usually fairly quick. Every once in a blue moon they will hang on to a shipment. I can't tell you the rhyme or reason for this, but it's not your dealer's doing. No real way to grease the wheels on this one.

 

Thanks Ken, I am just growing a little impatient. I’ve got it really bad this time and I am having trouble sleeping, just thinking of the drive from L.A. back home to San Diego.
