Default New guy here

Hello out there, Tom here, new to Jaguar ownership and new to the forums. We just bought a 2001 XJ8 with 80k miles on it, extremely well taken care of and in great shape. I'll be hopping on here on occasion to surf through the forums for help with the new ride.

Thanks for the welcomes. I'm not very knowledgeable about cars so I'll be looking for help here and there. First question, I want to put a good coat of wax on the car, any recommendations for a good quality wax?

By the way, I see you guys are from all over, I've been to France, loved it there and want to see much more of it, been to Ireland, not yet to England or Scotland but they are on my list.

Tom,

You'll probably get as many recommendations from members as there are products on the market! Everyone seems to have their own favourite combination of shampoo and polish.

Follow this link for a HOW TO on waxing and explanation of the various types available:

How To Wax Your Car - Car Wax, Paint Sealants, Paint Protectants

More important than the choice of wax is to ensure the paint is thoroughly cleaned first.
