Default New guy from kentucky

Hello everyone, I set my signature but i'm not sure if i'm correct or not. I now own a 82 XJ6 Vanden plas i have done some research but cant figure out if the VDP is considered a XJ6 or just VDP maybe someone can let me know please.

anyway the reason i signed up is my grandpa always wanted to fix it up and and take it to shows, my cousin and i used to help him with it. eventually he was unable to drive and it sat in the driveway for years. he passed away a little while back and now i want to restore it. I want to do some upgrades and probably have a POW/MIA tribute theme to it as a "in memory of" kinda thing. its going to be a long expensive and frustrating process but rewarding.

Welcome.

The VDP, Sovereign, etc are all basically naming related to trim levels and the VDP was always considered as good as it gets.

Mechanically, no different.

Down here the VDP was originally relegated to the Dainler cars, but you never got Daimler, due to some wrangling with Benz????.
