New to Jag not to JLR
I maybe a glutton for punishment having just bought two, new to me, JLR products in the last week, having sold two before moving here to Texas from Scotland in March. Those were Land Rover numbers four and five for me - not counting the Land Rover pushchair we bought for our daughter when she was born in 2000.
I nearly bought a 2017 F-Type SVR last year but then decide to move across the Atlantic. Over the past ten years my toys have been from Stuttgart rather than the Midlands and when I came to Texas the plan was to buy an American muscle car or C7 Corvette and A Grand Cherokee, but then we decided that the Disco was the devil we know SUV - having sold 2016 RRS Autobiography and 2011 Disco 4 XS before the move, and then a week after taking delivery of the Disco I found a high spec low-miles 2014 F-Type V8S which I have now had for 24 hours - totally different fun and with a barking mad exhaust, which you can get away with in Texas more than Aberdeenshire…. and in Texas the fuel is so cheap I can actually afford to run a 5.0 car!
I have been active on car forums for many years MX5 (I had about a dozen and a Mk1 is still one of the best things in the world to drive), RX8, Subaru WRX / STi L322 RR, RRS and of course Porsches. Usually my posts are under the name Stonehaven5 which I have adopted here.
Looking forward to finding out more about the F-Type.
My earliest Jaguar memories are my Uncle’s manual 1974 XJ, a friends Dad’s 1976 Daimler Double-Six coupe and another friends Dad’s old 420.

Hello,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar F-type.
Fuel is so cheap in Texas because they grow it and refine it Right There! LOL
