Hi, just acquired a 2001 XK8 convertible. As I live in the rockies it won't see much sun till spring. As with all older vintages it has a few wrinkles, the driver seat adjustment, CD player. It has just over 60000km on it. Drove 1000 km in 2 days to get it home. Retracted the roof to show my wife, then raised it again...now have a Trans fault and in limp mode. I have tracked it down to a possible issue with the torque converter. Looking forward to exploring the forum and sharing solutions.

Default Update on issues

Managed to clear the code errors. Disconnected the battery for 29 minutes and the transmission fault message cleared, took it for drive and then then the P1000 cleared! Stopped by the auto shop for a chat. All good for now, heading into the winter. Will give tome ro work on the driver seat and CD changer.
the driver seat is tuck and will not move forward or back. The switch engages the motor but noting moves.
The CD player checks t
For disc's on start up but indicates no Disc.
Did get my wife out for a great fall drivecwith the top down!

Default Seat stuck

Was sitting in the car thinking about how to move the seat forward, nec to get it out. Just for fun I hit the memory button 1, the seat moved, hit button 2 and it move well forward. The seat switch for for and aft movement doesnt work but the motor etccappears to be fine. Button 1 was close to were I wanted the seat so I got it there did a few adjustments and reprogramed the memory. One more step figured out. Now much easier to replace the seat cover, but may have to did the seat switch module.

Default Update on the CD

First DIY project, successfully removed the CD player and have in for a major clean. Will install and test when it's back. If the issue continues then the Tech wants to check it out installed. Has some jag experience with the alpine system. 200+ km road trip to visit him.

Greetings and welcome to JF from one old guy to THE Oldguyskiing.

Very nice XK8 convertible. Great to see you working through the inevitable teething issues, but you may find that posting your progress in the specific X100 sub-forum will garner best advice from all our gurus there.
Best to do so after their feeding hour, by which time even the most fearsome is a dormant and helpful pussycat.

Cheers and best wishes,
