Default New to Jaguar

Hello,
I purchased a 2000 Jaguar S-type 3.0 sedan that had overheated. The left bank has no compression, the right bank has uniform low compression. I am guessing that the head is cracked along with a blown gasket? The plastic lower intake may be warped also?
My experience is with American cars and Honda and Nissan. I have rebuilt engines and transmissions when restoring cars, and have a good shop.
I want to pull and replace the 3.0 with the same engine. I could use guidance on the best way to remove the engine. Out the top with or without removing the transmission, out the bottom dropping the sub frame?
I have found a 3.0 with 57k miles for $865. This seems to be a good price?
I also want to research possible causes for the original overheating. I read that the coolant resevoir is prone to breakage. Are there inherent problem areas I need to check?
Are there any videos out there about engine replacement for my vehicle?
The car is very nice overall, and is worth saving. I am looking forward to getting this car back on the road. Thank You all for your help in advance. Gary
