Default New to this Jaguar Forum ....

I joined another Jag forum, but I think this one is more appropriate. I appreciate any advice given by those with greater knowledge than I and will share when I can help another. Used to drive a 740IL.

I bought a lower mileage (22,000) 2009 XF 4.2L a couple of months ago. I scouted this type of car and others for awhile, establishing a price that would be fair to buyer and seller, so here I am.

I absolutely love the ride of this car, and it seems I'm getting just about 24 mpg which is more than I expected, maybe slightly less with city driving.

If anyone has advice on these subjects, it would be greatly appreciated:

1. Tire sensor has come on multiple times - different tires. I filled them immediately, though they were only slightly under-inflated. How common is this or maybe a bad sensor?

2.How do you put a front license plate (state requirement) on this vehicle?

3. Just left a car wash and now notice water / soap stains on window chrome. Totally annoying, car wash denies blame. What's best way to remove them?

Thank you! Minor details, otherwise love the car!

Congratulations on your 'new' Jaguar!
We read so often in here, "I just Love this car!" It must be a trend or something. LOL

Your car wash problem is one reason I Never let Anyone wash my car! I only clean her with Meguair's Ultimate Quick Detailer; even after she's been sitting under a tree full of rude birds or flying through clouds of bugs. It takes all that and leaves an absolutely Stunning shine. The only thing it won't remove is road tar. But a car wash won't do that either.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome.

Same as Elinor with the washing, bucket of water and Meguiars Soft Wash Gel, Rainwater rinse, Chamois off, all done in 20 minutes.

Stains like I think I see are best removed with a soft cloth and a dab of polish. I use Meguiars Ultimate ????, forgeot the rest.

The other 2 I will leave to people in your market to answer, and probably best re-asked in the Tech section for your car that Graham has directed you to.

Thank you for the guidance, its been really helpful already.

I held back on buying on of these for awhile. The other day in Manhattan, I need to pull out fast and change lanes on the west side highway, and the performance of the car was really inspiring - maybe enough to put up with the small challenges.
