New Jaguar owner
Hi Guys,
I've just purchased my first Jaguar, an XJ6 Series III 1985 Model with the 4.2L engine. It's got 171,000km (Just over 100,000mi) with only one owner since 1985. It's got a full service record and seems to be in an immaculate condition! I take delivery next week sometime.
I'm originally from Europe, now living in South Africa. I have a gorgeous wife and I'm an entrepreneur.
I've had a couple of classics in my time including a Lancia Beta and an Alfa GTV.
So there we go. I've had a look around. Seems like a helpful and friendly forum and I'm looking forward to being a member.

Welcome to the forum OliverB,
I don't expect there's many Series III's in South Africa and even less with a previous long term owner. It sounds like you've found a good one. looking forward to seeing some pics.
Follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 series I, II & III section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Enjoy the forum.

Welcome from Australia too..I sometimes browse through new members to see what Jag they have brought/hoping to buy.
That sounds like a real find, low miles and 3rd owner after some years. Now you have the car to go with your gorgeous wife! Series 111. Can't go wrong.
As others look forward to seeing it.
Enjoy,regards,neil

Thank you all for a warm welcome. Yes, the Series III is a rare car in South Africa. There are many Series I and II cars, but not too many III's. This is the first I have seen with one owner, such low mileage and great general condition.
I will post some pics as soon I as I take delivery of the car.
I am mechanically minded, so as soon as I get to grips with the car, I'm sure I'll be able to "give" as much as I "get" from the forum.
Cheers!
