Welcome to the forum Harry,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Sorry to hear about the damaged rim. The easiest way to check the rim size is from the coding on the tyre sidewall:

See the number 16 arrowed in blue. This shows the example is a 16 inch rim.
It's surprising what wheel specialists can do to repair bent or scuffed rims so don't just assume a replacement is the only solution.
Follow this link X-Type ( X400 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

I've checked the 2002 X-Type Driver's Handbook for bulb replacement and it has the following information for HID's:
Note: High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon light units, type D2S 35W, are not renewable, contact your Dealer if the headlight fails to operate.
I recommend you post the question in X-Type forum for advice from members with the same model. If there's a workaround, they will know.
