Default New mamber, 02 x type

Hey guys, new to the forums. Just purchased a 02 x type with only 36,000KM (yes I live in Canada) the paint is mint. Car looks and feel liek a 06 (paint wise) of course. This is my first jag. I went from driving a 01 sunfire which was my first car back in high school. Just wondering... are there any really really young people driving these cars? Im 21 and curently a university student. I just got a job in my field (finance) before I even got my degree, working for one of north americas largest mutual fund issuers. My friends cant believe I have a jag. Is anyone else on here is a similar situation?

I got my S-type when I was 19 and soon realized how many old hags drive jags. LOL! J/k guys. Most of the people on here are in there 20's and 30's and we have a few teens, so welcome to the group.

Welcome to the forums mrxtype.............nice intro.
You're not the youngest by quite a way I believe, but there aren't that many in your age group I dont think!

Nice one.....Hope you enjoy the forum and the X both.

Cheers

I'm still trying to per-fect the answer to that question..."so, what are you driving these days" without smiling too much. When they give you grief, just tell them you work hard, are earning that finance degree, and deserve a nice ride to go along with your future career...you're just getting a jump on the lifestyle you deserve. (and try to act cool doing it). lol

Welcome aboard. Another x-typer to add to the list!

Thanks for the welcome. So far I am enjoying Jaguar ownership. I drove my car to work last week thursday and parked it in my building. My boss really wanted to see it. So I parked near the enterance from the parkign garage to the elevators and took my sweet time gettign out and a lot of the people in my building were just lookign at me and the car prob thinking the same thing as most people thing (must be a drug dealer) lol But any way so at lunch a couple of the big bosses wanted to see the car so I took them out and they said they loved the car and were impressed with it. Later on that day my boss came up to me and said he had a pair of extra leaf game tickets for tonight and if I wanted I coudl have them. So I think I can say so far Jaguar ownership is great. Anyone else get any special treatment for the car they drive?

Welcome, mrxytpe. Enjoy the feeling of pride that you're currently experiencing with your new ride. That's quite an upgrade from your previous vehicle. As far as do any of my friends say "Wow, you've got a Jag!" - no, I can't say I'm in the same situation. We're all in our mid-to late-20's and when we get together for dinner and drinks, my driveway looks like a pre-owned, high-end car lot: my X-Type and my chromed-out Envoy (although, its not high-end), Lexus ES300, Lexus RX300, BMW 325Ci, Volvo S60R, Jag S-Type; so, I guess we're all used to it.

Wow XHIBIT A, thats quite the vehicle line up. JimC64 I dont tell people how much I paid for it. Most peopel I know have never looked into Jag as they think it is out of there price range so i just bigg my self up by saying its a 06 and if they ask how much I say "why u want to help me pay for it?"

While there is a huge group of "older" people driving a Jag, I don't think there's a lack of young'uns driving them. I upgraded to an x-type from a ford escort. The finance guy at the dealership said: "If I had a dollar for every time someone traded in an old escort for a Jaguar... I'd have one dollar."

It is fun to see reactions... I don't think I'll ever be able to tell someone I drive a Jag without grinning from ear to ear

Welcome to the forums!

I hear you Kanda, I feel liek I suddenly gained some sort of higher status in society by owning a jag and not to mention the boost of confidence. Likeevery morning I see thsi cute girl outsidemy work building having a smoke. I have noticedher checking me out a few times but I am sure she noticed me checking her out even more. But regardless so this morning I finallygot the courage to talk to her and we had a nice conversation. We started talking about cars and she said she just got a chevy aveo and I told her I got a jag. I noticed after it was made clear I own a jag the conversation flowed so much better and it felt liek I had some kind of power. Anyone else have this kinda feeling or a boost of confidence?
