Hey All.
I'm in the process of purchasing a 2002 S-Type, 4L V8. This will be my Mum's daily drive (Mom for you yanks out there ) I figure after smashing & commandeering a number of her vehicles over the years, it's about time I replace one, & do it with a bit of Panache!
I'm in Victoria, Australia. Been a hoon for a long time now. Settled down a bit with kids etc (Still drive like it's stolen. LOL)
I have a small fleet of Vehicles I look after:
MY09 Commodore Omega 60thAnniv (Holden to us Aussies, Chev Omega in US, Vauxhaul/Opel in UK) - My Daily Drive
MY04 (TS) Astra G Convertible; Linea Rossa (Holden in Aust, Opel in UK & US) - Daughter #1 Daily
MY09 Barina TK Facelift (Again Holden Here, Chev Aveo T200 in US, Daewoo Kalos in Europe) - Daughter #2 Daily
MY05 Smart ForTwo Pulse (W450) Slight lux model (same globally I think?) - Wife Daily & Shopping Cart
MY05 Smart ForTwo base model (W450) - Unfinished Project

The TK Barina may be being replaced with a MY02 (TS) Astra G - base Bertone model - as my daughter driving the Barina is a little jealous of the other daughter with the Linea Rossa. Daughter #2 got her license first & did it in a Manual, but now wants the luxury of the Cabby with Auto & Cruise, so I've found one cheap to do up & get her in. We'll see how that pans out!

Anyway, my investigations into Jagdom led me here & because of the Info & general tone of the Forum & comments therein I've decided to take a punt on the Jag & buy it warts & all! She is not perfect, paint is a bit dodge & she has a few dings & scratches, but she'll live outside in the weather so no drama.

I look forward to getting into the swing of stuff & bringing the new girl into the fold, with assistance from you guys here on the forums.
Cheers All,
Hammer.

Welcome to the forums Jack-Hammer,

The S-Type will be alright living outside. The Australian climate is a lot more forgiving to Jaguars than here in the UK where they gradually dissolve with the combination of rain and road salt.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Australia - Victoria/Tasmania Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...a-tasmania-94/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
I'm noticing that None of your cars are from the current decade. I thought I was the only one who appreciates and likes to drive Olde Stuff like that.
