New Member F-Pace S (X761) Owner, Silicon Valley
Hey everyone been lurking for a bit and figured it was time to properly introduce myself.
I'm based in the SF Bay Area (South Bay). I've been a car enthusiast for as long as I can remember, but the Jaguar is what brought me here. I picked up a Indus Silver 2020 F-Pace S (X761) new with the red interior and 22" OEM wheels drove it off the lot the day it arrived, right in the middle of Covid (June 2020). It was originally mine, until my son learned to drive in it and basically hijacked it forever in 2024. At the time, we were looking at Japanese cars for him, he had his heart set on either a Wrangler or keeping the F-Pace, and well the Jag won. Can't really blame him. So that gave me the excuse to go pick up a new Porsche Cayenne (Montego Blue Metallic on neodyme wheels, beige interior), which is now my daily. Our household is a three-brand garage my wife rounds it out with a black BMW 330e (custom spec), beige interior.
I've always appreciated what Jaguar does with chassis dynamics and that supercharged V6 is something special the way it delivers power is distinctly different from anything else I've ever driven. There's a character to the F-Pace that the Germans don't quite replicate. Less clinical, more alive. Even now I still miss driving it regularly.
I've been active on Rennlist for a while getting into the weeds, so I'm no stranger to the forum life. Looking forward to being part of this community and learning from you all along the way.
Here's the F-Pace S that started it all (and that my son refuses to give back):

Thank you!
I have added the car details but thanks for the reminder.
Your son sounds a VERY smart fella . . . my middle aged daughter fenagled away our pristine XK8, so I know your dilemma.
However, this is easily corrected. Sell the Porsche and get a Jaguar sportscar (supercharged, of course) . . . LOL.
Anyway mate, enjoy the forums here and it's great to have you aboard.

Cheers and best wishes,
Ha! Thank you for the warm welcome and yes, son has excellent taste, I'll give him that! Though I suspect "smart" and "opportunistic" might be interchangeable here. 😄
As for trading the Cayenne for a Jag I'll admit, watching him carve corners in that F-Pace S does make me wonder if he got the better end of the deal. Maybe he's onto something! The supercharged suggestion is duly noted... I'll keep it in my back pocket for when the Porsche bug temporarily loosens its grip.
Cheers, and looking forward to being part of the community here!
