Hi, I'm a new member and owner of a 2001 XJ8 Vanden Plas with 134k miles, purchased in 2007 with 56k mi. I live in Ventura County, California.

I also own a '68 E-type and a '67 MGB so I'm very familiar with British cars.

I do almost all my own work on my cars. Though I've farmed out a couple of jobs on the XJ to my local Jaguar only mechanic, mostly due to lack of time and the need to get it back on the road so my wife has something to drive.

I've had pretty good luck solving most of the issues with the XJ myself armed with a code reader and the factory service manual. However, I have found some additional good tips on this forum and finally decided to join.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
