First of all, thanks to all the forum members who responded so quickly to my "white wire in the battery compartment" post. It sure looked like it didn't have anywhere to attach to. Anyway, my love affair with jaguars goes back many years. All my dad's 3 partners in our automotive repairs and parts shop in San Francisco had 67/68 XKEs and I cut my teeth filling carbs with oil and putzing with various Jag issues. I even drove my cousin to her wedding in a Jag, and got her there in time. Fast forwarding thru two tours in europe with fiats, alfa-romeos, VW, mercedes, citroens, i finally shipped home a built-at-the-factory peugeot 505 turbo. Since the 90's though, our main rides have been jaguar. Current favorite ride is a BRG XJ6 1997 with presumably the last straight 6, 4.0 powerplant. We have been JCNA members since 2001 in the Reno Jaguar Club. And finally, our club also has a great web site for Jag enthusists.

There's nothing like early exposure to get one started on a mechanical path, Larry. It sounds like you have a Fine foundation with Jaguars.

Welcome from ElinorB.

Hello Mr. Rich, welcome to the Jaguar Forums. Nice bit of history there! Yes, your XJ6 has the last generation inline six from Jaguar. It's called the AJ16, you've heard of it? Very durable powerplant.

See you around the forums, have fun!

Welcome to the forum Larry,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you have already found your way to the X300 tech section so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
