Hello fellow Jag owners,
After reading this great forum for more than a month, I bought a 1999 XK8 Conv. (Carnival Red, Ivory Int.) with 63k. This is the sixth Jag that I've owned. The XK8, in my opinion, looks and feels like a modern version of the 1967 E Type, that I still own.
I have also owned and restored a 1970 XJ6, 1972 E Type V12 Coupe, 1984 XJ6 and a 1984 XJS. When I was overhauling the V12 motor from the E Type, my neighbor who owned a 1964 Corvette came over and saw the new looking empty aluminum block standing upright on the garage floor. He could only see half the cylinders (no steel liners) and commented " My God that's a big six cylinder"! I told him to come around to the other side. He nearly died when he saw the other six cylinders. It looked like a Merlin V12 for a Spitfire. I never told him about the liners.
I also had a 2003 M5, that I owned since new and sold it last year with 5K on the odometer. It was a great driver, but I never really connected with the car. The XK8 has all of the Jaguar attributes and quirks that are really appreciated and sometimes cursed by those of us who truly enjoy these cars. Glad to be aboard!

I Luv it! A naked block without liners!

Welcome to the forum Redstar,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
