Hello all...
Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Brandon Wright I'm brand new to jaguars and brand new to the forum. I'm 25 years old and I live in central Florida USA.
I was recently given a 1996 jaguar xj6 4.0 with 96,800 miles on it by a family friend. The car belonged to the husband of the lady that gave it to me before he passed away 1 year ago. Its a beautiful piece of machinery. I have owned many Mercedes in my lifetime but never a jag.
Right off the bat I have noticed that there are quite a few major differences between the two. The electrical engineering is far more extensive than what im used to but the beauty of the car seems to make it all worthwhile.
I just want to say thanks in advance for any assistance you may lend me in the future.
Sincerely
Brandon Wright

Hello, Brandon,
Congratulations on your gift.
Yes, there are Many differences between German and British engineering. 96000+ miles is just now well loosened up though, and you'll be able to get many more tens of thousands of miles from your car.
Someone will be along shortly to direct you to the correct section where you can find help and advice if you need it.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Brandon,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the X300 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link US Lower Atlantic - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
