Howdy ya'll
My name is Janet and this forum is awesome. I've own my UK-Kat for five yrs. We purchased the car from auction. He's truly been a heartbreaker. They tell me to sell it while it's running. I'm told this for very good reason. I've since had a rebuilt transmission, boots and coils installed, window regulators replaced on all fours and twice on the drivers side. Installed a new oil pan after running over something on the freeway that made a hole the size of a quarter (this ones on me). Luckily for me, not other damage done. I've had a new paint job and new interior lining. It's currently dead once again, it appears to need new tensioner so and probably new timing chains. since I love this car, I'm willing to do the job myself. Been researching it, that's why I've become a member. This is the best place to go for expert advise. You all ROCK!

Welcome.

Good to see you didnt listen to those "experts", they know nothing about passion.

MOSTLY its the plastic top intermediate tensioners that are the weak link. Depending on milaege travelled that I know of.

Welcome to the forum Janet,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

That's a long list of repairs. I can tell you're not the type to be easily discouraged!

Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 ( X200 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. For the engine, you'll also find relevant advice on tensioners in the XK8/XKR (XK8 / XKR ( X100 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum) forum.

You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link US Southwest - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
