Hello....new member and 1st jaguar been owned.
got it off a seller Dec last year and mech checked and aaid was gud to go but hv had to fix the fuel pump which cost alot due to imcompetent mechanic but later got a better auto mech. Noticed a gearbox fault on the panel which i called the mech but upon getting there the indication was no longer there apart from the usual cruise not available sign.
travelled n got back to drive the car only to notice that putting the gear to reverse. ....it refused to move...changed my gear to Drive and it did. I left the car n called the mech to check the next day which he said its the transmission oil that is to be changed. Alongside my hub which had started to make some "woooo" sound. Given him the cash for that repair but only to be told that the gear valve is damaged and might need to buy a another gear box( really expensive).
Please am super confused here and need an expert point of view.
Really tempted to sell the car because of incurring expenses in a short while. Pls advice me

Welcome.

I note in your profile that you have an X Type.

The people in the X Type Tech section will have answers for you, as well as proper advice.

BUT

You will need to give the model details of your car and the kms traveled, engine size, etc to get accurate advice.
