Seasons greetings to all.
I have just treated myself to my dream car a 2012 Jaguar xjl, Portfolio, V8, N/A engine, in black with a tan interior.
She only has 15,109 kms(9,000 plus miles) and is in absolutely pristine condition, Black in colour with a tan interior. I take delivery next week after the dealer
has done some detailing and the snow tyres are intalled.
The car has no service records, presumably due to the low mileage, and is out of warranty.
My question is "should I buy a warranty"? in view of the low mileage. I did have a pre -purchase mechanical inspection done and she passed with flying colours.
I have been offered a 4 year, 80,000 kms warranty for just over $4,000.00 (Canadian) from Lubrico. It appears to be a fairly comprehensive but I have not yet had an opportunity to read the contrat. I plan to keep the car a minimum of two years and more probably,
four years. I drive between 15,000/20,000 kms a year, with most of this on a annual trip to Florida.
As recommended in this forum I also plan to purchase a spare water pump and carry it with me.I will buy pump C2Z31587 as apparently this is the latest generation
available. Does anyone have any information on the reliability of this model? Should I consider an aftermarket alternative?
Thanks for any input.
