My introduction to Jaguar motor vehicles began many years ago when, as a student I acquired a 1948 Jaguar SS 1½ litre saloon (Cream) which, due to its age and failing parts I foolishly abandoned to the benefit of the farmer where the car broke down (Essex). Later, having secured a reasonably reliable job I brought an E-type but the salary failed to match the upkeep and running costs so I moved across to a foreign competitor until I managed, in my autumnal years, to acquire my Jaguar XK8/XKR; a wonderful vehicle and so comfortable.

It is great to have joined this super informative Forum, my first visit has already produced useful information and hopefully I will glean more
