Hi,
i have joined this forum ss I have recently bought a 2005 S-Type SE 3.0 V6. It has it's issues (who doesn't?) But I got it cheap. Ive already replaced the ambient air temp sensor, both rear drop links and discs and pads at the back it came with a 'Park Brake Fault' and I discovered that the RH csble had snapped and 'someone' had disconnected the EPB module in the boot. I replaced the cable and serviced both calipers. I then ran tbe EPB calibration. Park brake now works but still getting a 'Park Brake Fault' and an amber light on the dash. Thing is, there are no DTC's reported although there is one failure in the data streams - actuator position. I'm going to replace the LH cable as it sometimes binds. I've read on this forum that battery deterioration can cause problems and my battery only has 11.6V (engine not running). Not keen on spending £150 on a battery to find it's not that, so I'm trying everything else first.
Anyone have any insight?

Welcome to the forum Mark,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Modern Jaguars do need a battery in good condition an fully charged or thay can throw spurious error messages and codes. I get around five years out of a battery. If yours is an OE Varta, you can check the age from the date manufactured code on the top of the -ve terminal post. WW-YY = Week-Year.
I see you posted in an X351 thread about this issue. X351 EPB's don't give much trouble - S-Type ones do! Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
