Hi Everybody, Newbie here from Colorado. About a two months ago I bought an X-Type that was on it's way to the junkyard. I resurrected it and now put it in car shows. It's not officially show car quality, but since these cars are becoming scarce, they now get attention at shows. There are so few of them on the streets (at least here in Colorado) that there are more in the junkyards than on the streets. Today at the self service junkyard, I saw five X-Types, some were in better condition than mine... But anyway, I'm glad to be here!
Hello, Tom,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar X-type, and saving it from the crusher.
Husband and I have decided that most people don't fix their cars. If something happens to it more than run low on gas, they throw it away and get another one. You'll find most people here agree with you more than they agree with the throw away crowd.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum tom999w,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
The X-Type is becoming rare on the roads here in the UK too. Always an underrated model, it rightly has an enthusiastic following with our members.
I can see you've already found your way to the X-type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Central Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-central-36/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Thanks everybody! Also, Elinor, to answer your question, yes, I think today's society is a throw-away society. That's why some of the Jaguars in the junkyard appeared to be in excellent condition, not even a ding on the body...
