Hi everyone,
I am a new member but have owned by 2005 Jaguar XJ8L since 2013. It's up on miles now (128k) and in need of some more TLC. I used it as a daily drive for a few years and my daughter learned to drive in her a few years back. Two weeks ago my 16 yr old son just started driving it to school. It's now part of the family and I can't consider letting her go (must be crazy). Before my son started using it I did a full rear brake job, recovered the headlamp lenses with a Turtlewax kit and, replaced the tie rod ends.
Since owning it I have replaced all four air springs, battery and much of the fuel system while unsuccessfully looking for a "restricted mode" fault that later turned out to be nothing more than a leaking air line. I had some problems with the TPS causing problems at idle in wet weather but, cleaning the connector up and water proofing it seemed to do the trick.
Current projects are:
1. Control arms / ball joints and front bushings - advice welcome.
2. Headliner repair (top part only).
3. Replace original drivers side floor mat - cheaply!
4. Front right bumper access panel replacement (on order from Jagbits.com)
I'm considering doing a suspension conversion as the front air springs are starting to droop again - Grrrr.
Regards,
Jon
