Good morn,
I've just registered with the forum and intend to do some research prior to getting a getting another XJ6.
I last owned a XJ6 in the mid 1990s - it would have been the last of the XJ40 models with a 4.0L AJ6 motor and 4 speeder auto in a nice grey colour. I really liked that car and have always fancied getting another one day - which I think is approaching.

My current cars are a Porsche Boxster (fun car), Skoda Superb diesel estate (sensible car) and a 1980 Volvo 244 (project car) - plus 3 bikes (Triumph, CCM and Suzuki). The XJ6 idea is based on nostalgia and ability (room and money) on my part. I think I'd be looking for a X300 with the AJ6 motor and 4 speed box, not a project car that I could run for 2-3,000 miles/year. I'm in no rush so I'm hoping this forum will allow me to research the right type of car to buy.

Best wishes,

Alan

Welcome to the Forums.

The X300 with the AJ16 (AJ6 grown up), is an awesome car.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Alan,

An X300 would be a good choice. The model has a reputation for reliability and long life. I put over 140K on mine with few problems or work other than routine maintenance.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the X300 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums and the search for your next Jaguar.

Graham

Many thanks,
I just need to work out how to append a signature - I'm sure I'll manage that :-)

Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Signature details then appear with your NEXT post - NOT immediately.
