Hi guys, this is my first time on your forum, previously I’ve been into replicas, my last was an AC Cobra running a 3.5 V8. My latest project is a 1984 1.6 Ford Capri.....I can hear groans from here🤔the reason I’ve joined your forum is that I’m in the process of replacing the 1.6 pinto with a 3.0 v6 from an S type and I’m hoping for some support with the electrics as ECU’s are all new to me. I’m used to working with carburettors.

No Groans from this household! Inetrspecies transplants are a long standing tradition here.
I wish you success in this project.

Welcome to the forums Old school,

I remember the difference between a 1.6 Capri and the 3.0 litre when they were current so that should make an interesting transformation. The electronics will be a challenge but all the infomation needed will be found in the model forum. Think of it as putting a Capri body on an S-Type and that will get you in the right mindset.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums and good luck with your project.

Graham
