Greetings, I'm Kevin but you can call me Cowboy or Tramp, Although in truth my Dogs name is Tramp but I go by both. I have an Carnival Red 2001 Jaguar XK8 Coupe, in excellent condition. I'm relatively new to this computer jargon and this is first time I've logged onto a forum, so please forgive my blunders, I'm retired and always said if my wife left me I was going to buy a Jaguar...Well guess what, I am now the proud owner of that Jaguar. I've always done my own work on my vehicles but mainly worked on Harley's and have any tool you could imagine, however, these Jaguars are complex machines, and I am going to need some much needed advice. That's where you folks come in. If you have any questions just give me a shout out. Forgive me if I have overshared but this is all new. As Soon as someone shows me how to post photo's I'll get one up. Thanks for your patience.

Hello, Kevin,
Congratulations on your new RED Jaguar XK8!
As you're already familiar with wrenches and stuff you'll be OK working on your new kitty.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thank you all for your warm welcome, Thank you Elinor for the encouragement, and moderators. I've fallen in love with the Jaguars and especially the XK and intend to purchase at least one more to restore, I have been buying up obsolete parts along with coils, plugs, sensors Gaskets and motor parts in order to keep my pride and joy running for years to come, currently I am having an electrical issue I need to address and will seek out advice as needed. Thank you all.

Welcome to the Forums.

Yep, a GOOD new battery every 3 or 4 years, fresh fuel, oil, etc, and DRIVE it, never failed with any of mine for way too long.

Good luck.
