Hi, my name is Paul, I own a 2000 XJ8 US version. The kitty has 73,500 miles on it. My wife and I bought it used from the original owner, a tech guy out here in the California Silicon Valley back in 2012 with 37,000 miles on it all Jag dealer maintained. Since purchased, I have replaced the fuel pump and filter (2019 about 25,000 miles ago) based on the sage advice gathered from this forum; multiple ignition coils (oil keeps slowly leaking into the coil wells and shorting them out); the alternator (blew out in 2016 in the middle of the Bryant street onramp to the San Francisco Bay Bridge (people were not happy it was right before rush hour) replaced through the wheel well thanks to this forum; replaced all the front engine water coolant piping (leaking threw the whale blow spout as it were; had the transmission rebuilt 2015 at 41,000; and the drivers side head gasket. I look forward to posting my current dilemma with the kitty.
