I have had a 1960 MK 9, 1977 XJ6, Now a 2013 XJ.

I was quoted $964.00 for an oil change by one dealer and $560 by another. Not a good experience.
Looking for oil spec (WSS spec)

WOW!! That Does sound excessive for a mere oil change! I'm thinking I would figure out a way to do it myself, just as you're doing.

Someone will be along shortly to direct you to the correct section where members can tell you what oil to use.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks all for the welcome.
I'm having a problem determining the proper oil For my 2013 XJ v6 SC rear wd.
The owner's manual says 5W-30 WSS2C913-C. The oil filler cap says 5W-20 Castrol with no spec mentioned.
Castrol web site (and Mobil 1 site) say they do not have an oil for this car. but on the phone they say a 2014 takes WSSM2C925-A.

Assuming it takes a 5W20, What WSS Spec does it need?

The dealer service folks have not been helpful.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forum Eric,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X250 forum and the question has ben answered so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Enjoy the forums.
