Recently purchased a 1998 XK8, 70K miles, Metorite Silver with black top and
black interior. Previous owner kept the car garaged from the day
he bought it new. Look forward to reading the forum posts and
all the information each of you share on a daily basis.

Welcome to the site Seems like there are several new XK owners coming out of the woodwork. A little odd since it seems many XKs are being put away for winter. Anyway, we look forward to hearing more from you.

I would be interested to know if anyone has been successful
in programming their own key fob. I have noted with interest
the many different programming instructions on the forum.
I have a 98 XK8 and so far I have been unable to program
the fob. I even tried the instructions contained in Service
Technical Bulletin XT501-23 with no success. Is there a
way to test the Security Locking Control Module??
Thanks in advance.
