new member 95 XJ12
High Guys. I'm new to the forum.
I've have a '95 XJ12, moroccan red with cream upholstery (coffee trim), that I'm putting back together from a state of neglect. I also purchased a 95 XJ6 with decent upholstery the same color, and am swapping that over to the 12. additionally I'm stripping out the 6 for ALL the compatible parts as spares.
Next on the list is to freshen up the paint work and add some XJR parts
My first Jag was a '98 VDP I bought for my wife. Beautiful car, but I was not fond of the long wheel base. After several years we sold it and I got her a '05 S-type.
We put 100K on that one, she loved it. I became quite used to having a Jag to drive, so when a friend found this 12 at a killer price of $850 I talked him out of it.
I was told it runs well but, by the time I talked him out of it, it had developed a starter problem. I lucked out though because the '95 is a standard wheel base chassis.
I bought the XJ6 (also a std wheelbase) I did get to drive that home. The difference from a long wheel base and a standard is huge. I love it!
Reading the posts has been very helpful. I'm looking forward to asking a lot of questions, so - in advance, ThX for all the help.
