Greetings all, I'm new to the site and new to jag ownership. I have had my X308 for about a month and am learning fast how much fun they can be.

The beast in question is a W reg 3.2 in gold. pretty good bodywork, with a few bits of work needed. just ran it to Cornwall and back for a break, with it now sat on the drive refusing to start. Ho hum. In at the deep end.

I have found some really great tech info on here so far and look forward to discussing the pro's and con's of our shared appreciation of all things Jaguar.

Hello,
It's good to hear of new owners' good experiences. However, as you're learning, these things come at some cost, especially for an aging car. No worries, you'll find Loads of help on this site.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum chri15d,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

If you're sure it's flooded, check the FAQ's for 'bore wash'.

You might get away with trying to start with the throttle floored which cuts out the fuel pump. If not, it's plugs out and a squirt of oil in the cylinder bores.

Thanks Graham, It certainly looks like bore wash. been frantically looking it up. Hopefully no big problem but a lesson learned. I will post how I get on.

thanks to all for the welcome, and to update, I have cured my non starting issue, it was indeed bore wash and now, after pulling the plugs and priming the pots, it is runing smoothly again.
