New Member From Colorado
Greetings to the list.
I would like to introduce myself. I am a newly retired who just bought my first Jaguar. It is a very nice 2003 XJR, last of the X308 chassis.
This is my first Jaguar, but not my first British car. My very first car in high school was a 1961 MGA-1600. This was in 1971, so all my friends were into American muscle cars. I was never afraid to step out of the box, and having the only British car in the high school lot did stand out.
Later I bought and restored a Triumph TR6, which had much more power and was more refined (Roll up windows!)
I have always loved and lusted over Jaguars. My first dream car from an early age was the XKE roadster. When the XJ sedans appeared I was attracted to their styling too.
The XJR seems to be a sort of blending of my two dream cars. Strong performance with elegant styling.
Most recently I have been spending all my enthusiast time with Mercedes Benzs. I had quite a collection of SL's, diesels and big powerful sedans. I am down to one Mercedes, and it was time scratch the Jaguar itch.
I am sure I'll have many questions and look forward to all of your feedback. I do a lot of my own wrenching and have a nice lot of metric tools from my Mercedes Daze. Thank you for adding me and I look forward to visiting with all of you.
Cheers for now.
