New Member - First Jag - Loving my old XK8
I've been lurking on this board for the past several months and have gained much insight and experience by standing on the shoulders of the experts and hobbyists here. Figured I could help others with what I have experienced and hopefully gain insights on some of my Kitty's more nuanced issues. Glad to be here.
My Kitty is a 1998 XK8 4.0 Coupe that I have performed quite a bit of work on, but I've found that I love working on this car (except sensor issues). Here are some of the things I have done to the car over the past 6 months:
New control arms
New radiator
New brake lines
New parking brake cabling
New timing chains and tensioners
New radiator hoses
New brakes/rotors
New water pump/ thermostat
New serpentine belt
New belt tensioner
Repaired the ABS Module (solder fix)
Changed plugs, oil filter, trans fluid
Sure I'm forgetting somethings, but just been having a great time with it

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

New members have frequently done work on their cars before they find this place. I myself had a list of no fewer than 77 items (mostly minor, but not all) which had been replaced, adjusted, tweaked, or just plain hammered upon to make right before I got here.
It's very thoughtful of you to want to share your experience.
