Default New member from Germany with an early XK8

Hello to the forum!

At first I want to apologize for my english - at least it is better than my french

Last year we took a sensible amount of € and did invest it into a dream: A sapphire blue XK8 convertible with cream interior and in very good condition. Registered in late '97 its an "early" model" - the version we love most with its recessed fog lights, thin chrome bar and gauge cluster.
The key problems (tensioners, thermostat body) have been fixed already - so apart from minor flaws it is almost perfect.
So we now used our cat for 15 months including some long trips to France and Italy and still love it.

Thanks to the forum I got some knowledge already regarding sensibility to battery voltage, windows loosing its calibration and others: This is a really good and helpful forum - Thank you all for your participation and sharing your experience & knowledge

Johannes

Welcome to the forums Johannes,

I too enjoy long trips in mainland Europe with several to France, Spain and Italy. Haven't made it to Germany .... yet.The XK8 and it's successor the XK are excellent tourers.

With tensioners and cooling system already fixed, you have the major concerns out of the way. I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Johannes,
There's No need to apologize for your English. It's Way better than my German, and in fact, I would give you an A!
I decided some time ago that an Xk8 would be my Next Jaguar.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
