Default New member hello...

HI to all from Enfield in the UK

Have a 1970 pale blue series 1 2.8 that's been in the family since 1977. Garaged since it was bought and last used in 1992.
Just started re commissioning and searched for some info on dropping the rear suspension and came across the forum - lots of useful
info and good advice ! Have some surface rust to deal with, interior needs a clean (!) and the engine turns freely, handbrake seized off ( thankfully )
so planning to overhaul the rear cage as soon as it's running... or as soon as I can muster the energy !!

Welcome to the forum dogtired,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. The 2.8 was a quite a rarity and there can't be many stayed in the same family for so long.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/ to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome.

I agree, the 2.8 is a rare bird in any market.

Good luck with the project.
